Our study director Melanie Böttcher won together with her team colleague Sarah Kissinger the silver medal in Feestyle Doubles Woman during the 2nd World Championship of Tenniquoits 2010 in Koblenz / Germany

In 2009 Dr. Jörg Leopold took over the responsibilities for full fauna studies here at Ibacon. Meanwhile he was promoted to head of the field study team in strong cooperation with our well known study director Angela Goßmann. He is entomologist by education and an expert for the taxonomic identification of arthropods.

One of the most important ecotoxicological tests is the "Fish Acute Toxicity Test" according to OECD 203. To reduce the number of animals used in this test a project was initiated by Dr. Hans Rufli (ecotoxsolutions, Switzerland) with grants from the 3R Research Foundation Switzerland. One member of the expert panel of this project coming together in a workshop in June 2010 was our study director Melanie Böttcher, who is responsible for the fish GLP-tests performed here at IBACON.

During the last months our laboratory had been strengthened by a remarkable expansion of man power (+12%), laboratory space (+30%) and equipment.

Since 10 years one day a year in Germany is dedicated to girls to gain insight into professions which are mostly chosen by men. Again IBACON took part in this interesting event and gave 13 girls the chance to learn more about jobs in biological and chemical laboratories.
