7 Use of cookies:

When you use our website, cookies are stored on your computer. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive and assigned to the browser you are using. They transmit certain information to the party that sets the cookie. Cookies cannot run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. They serve to make the website more user-friendly and efficient.

Our website uses the following types of cookies:

7.1 Transient cookies

These cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. This includes session cookies, which store a session ID that allows your browser's requests to be assigned to the same session. This enables us to recognize your computer when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.

7. 2 Prevention of cookies

You can configure your browser settings to refuse cookies or to accept only certain types of cookies. Please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all features of our website.

7.3 Legal bases and storage duration

The legal bases and storage durations for personal data processed via cookies depend on the type of cookies used. This information is provided in the sections above.

8 Website analysis

For the purposes of analyzing and optimizing our websites, we use various services as described below. For example, we can analyze how many users visit our site, which information is most sought after, or how users find our offerings. We collect data on which website a user came from (known as the referrer), which subpages of the site were accessed, and how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. This helps us design and improve our offerings in a user-friendly manner. The data collected is not used to personally identify individual users. We collect anonymous or, at most, pseudonymous data. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest under Art. 6 Para. 1 f GDPR. This interest is to understand which content users are interested in, how users become aware of our website, and how our website is used, in order to better tailor our web offerings to user needs.

8.1 Matomo (formerly Piwik)

This website uses the web analytics service Matomo to analyze the use of our website and to improve it regularly. Through the obtained statistics, we can enhance our services and make them more interesting for you as a user. Matomo runs exclusively on our website's servers, and the storage of users' personal data occurs only there. Data is not shared with third parties.

Matomo uses cookies. These text files are stored on your computer and allow us to analyze the use of our website. The information obtained through the cookies about your use is transmitted to and stored on our website's servers to evaluate user behavior.

This website uses Matomo with the “AnonymizeIP” extension. This means IP addresses are shortened before further processing, ensuring that direct personal identification is excluded. The IP address transmitted from your browser via Matomo is not merged with other data we collect.

Matomo is an open-source project. Information about data protection from the third-party provider can be found at https://matomo.org/privacy/

The legal basis for using Matomo is your consent under Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time; see Section 7 of this privacy policy for details.

The purpose of data processing is to obtain information about the use of our website so that we can continuously improve our website and its user-friendliness.

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for our recording purposes. The generated statistics and underlying data are not deleted.
